There were a variety of artists that participated in the event by displaying and demonstrating their form of art. We had Bethany Burnette and Chad Fernandez, two young singers, share a vocal performed of their favorite music as well as the Sisters of Sound, the Clermont Ladies Barbershop Chorus; Mandi Page provided a reading of some of her own original poetry; the cast from the South Lake Theatre Company’s upcoming show, “Steel Magnolias”, gave us a preview of a scene from the show.
There was face painting by Amy Milne of Happy Face for the kids as well as some very unique original artwork; plaster painting with Mary Ann of Plaster Cottage and beads made out of paper by Watermelon Workshop; a wonderful artist from South Florida came to demonstrate a medium of art that uses melted wax and is considered to be a “green” type of art because it simply uses wax and now chemicals or paint; Thyme of Day displayed their art of aroma therapy and how to mix the essential oil that provide restorative effects on the mind and body. Julia Nix, Creative Memories Scrapbooking, provided scrap booking materials and ideas on how to creative keep all of your photos and mementoes. The culinary arts were also represented by a gentleman that is a personal chef that offered fun and healthy meal options that even kids can make. Over 150 people came to the event and were inspired by the variety of art that was showcased.
